Pastor Matthew and LeeAnn Mauldin

By his own admission, Pastor Matthew Mauldin is a sinner called to be a saint by the grace of Jesus Christ. He surrendered to the call of Jesus Christ to be born-again, answering with faith and repentance on May 27th, 1991 in the mountains of New Mexico. This was the beginning of a radical conversion experience, taking him from a very sinful, insecure young runaway coasting through life to a young man filled with the Holy Spirit and growing in faith and amazement at God revealed in the person of Jesus Christ through the pages of the Bible.

He instantaneously felt the calling to preach the gospel as a minister and this became evident in his various attempts to reach former classmates and friends that he used to party and do drugs with in high-school. In obedience to God's personal command, and just four months after his conversion, Matthew returned to Cibola High School, two years after dropping out, on a mission to reach as many students and faculty as he could.

After serving faithfully in two churches (The Door Church in Rio Rancho and Albuquerque) for nearly eight years a piece, he received a commission to plant a new church and was ordained to do so by the church body of the Door Church World Outreach, headquartered in Tucson, Arizona in June 2007.

Today, he and his wife of over twenty years, along with their four children minister the gospel in Albuquerque, New Mexico to a church that they pioneered, opening for it's first service in January 2008 at the Paradise Hills Community Center.

Westside Christian Fellowship Church is a Bible-based, Spirit-filled, non-denominational church with a master passion to share the good news of Jesus Christ, and to make disciples of those who have responded to that message. We have a warm family feel and a contemporary Spirit-filled style of worship, where you’ll hear relevant messages you can apply to everyday life.

Each service begins with the congregation singing along to contemporary praise and worship music led by our music team. The words are posted on a screen to make it easier for all to sing along. We often begin with praise music, which is unifying, encouraging, and celebratory of God’s victory and our dedication to Him. We then progress into worship music which is intended to exalt God’s worth, reminding ourselves of how blessed we are to know Him.

We then pray as a congregation for needs that members and visitors have placed on a list located in our lobby.

We then take an offering in order to honor the Lord with our giving, as He has so generously given to us, and uses our faithful giving to facilitate the Church and allow us to partner with His work.

Announcements are then briefly made, sometimes followed by the testimonies of some of the members with the intent to thank God and encourage others through the declaration of a recent God-given breakthrough or victory.

The preaching of the Word of God and response to it are considered to be the most important part of our services. We want to listen with reverence and discern what applies to our lives that we may respond to that word with the resolve to live it out.

It is the desire for response and implementation that leads us to believe that it is something that we should do immediately after hearing a message, so that we may become “doers and not hearers only.” (James 1:22) For this reason, almost every message is followed by an invitation for the saint and the sinner to both come to the altar. The sinner’s response is one of faith and repentance, a conversion, and that person is often met by one of our prayer counselors. Many of those are extremely excited to begin a new life with Christ right within the service. The saint’s response is also one of agreement with what God’s word has revealed to them both indirectly and personally (through discerned application), and they will begin to speak with God bout it.

After the service we hope you will take a few moments to visit with us, as we would love to get to know you better and answer any questions you may have.
